CMVM launches publication on the 20th anniversary of the Securities Code

Today, the CMVM marks the 20th anniversary of the Securities Code with the launch of a publication with the contribution of over 48 experts on issues that marked the first two decades of the main legislation of the Portuguese capital market.

IOSCO Annual Meeting and CMVM Conference will be held in November

Portugal will be hosting the 46th IOSCO Annual Meeting between 2 and 4 of November 2021. This international event, organised by the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) will take place in conjunction the 30th anniversary of the Portuguese capital market’s regulator, scheduled for 4 and 5 November.

CMVM marks its anniversary with a debate on the future of the market and a publication on the Securities Code

The Securities Market Commission (CMVM) marks the 11th of May as the first day of a new decade of its existence. To celebrate this date, a 30th anniversary seminar will be held. It will bring together policy makers, experts and those responsible for the national capital market to reflect on the future of the market and its regulation.

In February, the PSI-20 Index closed at 4,702.19 points, reflecting a 1.9% downturn than in January and a 1.3% decrease than that recorded in the same period in 2020. The key issuers on the Index were EDP Renováveis (15.44%), EDP (14.60%) and Galp (10.24%).

Infractions1st Quarter​ Statistics During the first quarter of 2021, the CMVM rendered decisions in 6 administrative infraction proceedings, whereof 3 for breach of financial intermediation duties, 2 for breach of auditor performance duties and 1 for breach of duties related to the collective investment undertakings activity.  The decisions rendered between January and March pertain to 5 very serious administrative infraction proceeding and 1 serious administrative infraction proceeding, whereof a total of €1,200.000 in fines was applied and 3 warning notices were issued, and 1 proceeding was dropped.
