The annual report provides an overview of the areas for which Finanstilsynet is responsible and the tasks discharged by Finanstilsynet in 2019.

The report by the Board Chair and the Director General is signed by Finn Arnesen and Morten Baltzersen. The annual report contains an overview of planned and completed tasks in a separate chapter on goal achievement. The main part consists of chapters reporting on the supervision of various sectors and the tasks performed by Finanstilsynet in 2019. This includes on-site inspections, reporting from institutions, market analyses, licensing and regulatory development. An account is also given of Finanstilsynet’s internal development initiatives, including the digitialisation strategy adopted in December 2019.

More comprehensive analyses and assessments of the financial market are covered in the semi-annual report Risk Outlook, published in June and December, and in quarterly reports on financial institutions’ solvency and financial performance. In addition, Finanstilsynet publishes an annual Risk and Vulnerability Analysis in May, which summarises the work on ICT security in the financial sector during the preceding year, and reports from thematic inspections in the various supervised sectors.
