FRA hosted a meeting for members of the Egyptian Capital Market Association (ECMA) with Mr. Hisham Tawfiq, Minister of Public Business Sector. The meeting was attended by Heads of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), the Egyptian Stock Exchange and Misr for Central Clearing, Depository and Registry (MCDR) to discuss a number of issues related to the Egyptian Capital Market.
Dr. Omran confirmed that the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) is the regulator who supervises the Stock Market, its tools and mechanisms, adding that FRA regulates, develops and controls the market. Moreover, FRA’s Chairman stressed on the importance of expanding the attendance of General Assemblies in order to grant the investors the right in participating in the General Assemblies’ meetings in accordance with the law, pointing to reviewing new mechanisms to vote in the General Assembly.
