Within the context of the Authority’s continuous efforts to develop the Egyptian insurance market and improve the technical skills of the employees through sharing the best international practices in the field of insurance, FRA organizes an actuarial workshop on pricing of non-life insurance. The workshop will be attended by managers, product manager, technical departments, underwriters, actuaries, risk managers and other professionals with interest on insurance pricing.
The seminar will tackle the importance of insurance industry due to the importance of actuarial expertise, its construction and scarcity for the prevailing practices in the Egyptian insurance market where the role of the actuary is still limited to preparing and valuating the technical allocations without taking part in the pricing process.
The Actuarial Expert Mr. Luis Portugal of Actuarial Group- based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates- will also deliver a lecture at the workshop. Actuarial Group specializes in training and consulting in the field of insurance and pension funds. It has previously provided actuarial consulting services to a number of insurance companies, pension fund management companies and banks
Over the course of two days, the agenda of the workshop will include skills needed upon preparing pricing of non-life insurance. At the forefront of these skills is how to build and prepare the general insurance tariff, understand and apply the Precautionary Principle and avoid risks after analyzing the data stated in the insurance application and how to calculate the risk premium and total premium.
