The sum under management of UCITS amounted to €14,368.6 million in December 2020. This is a €474.1 (3.4%) increase apropos November. The amount under management of AIFs decreased 3.6% down to €300.2 million.
Investment in domestic shares rose by 4.1% for domestic issuers and 4.0% for foreign issuers compared to the previous month. With regard to public debt, the value of the investment rose by 14.8% for national debt and 3.4% for foreign debt. The amount invested in bonds increased 2.0% for national issuers and increased 1.7% for foreign issuers.
EDP was the security with the most impact on the funds’ portfolios, depicting 10.2% of the total amount invested with an 20.6% monthly upswing. This was followed by Altri, registering a 15.6% increase in the funds’ portfolios and Sonae with a 1.2% drop apropos November.
As to investment in the EU market, LVMH, Samsung and Siemens lead the field in the SIF’s portfolios and outside the EU, DIS US, Applie and Nike.
Germany was the key destination for investment of UCITS in December, securing 15.1% of the total fund investment, followed by the USA (14.3%) and France (11.6%). Portugal registered 6.7% of the investment.
Caixa Gestão de Ativos (32.7%), IM Gestão de Ativos (21.8%) and BPI Gestão de Activos (18.7%) were the management companies with the largest market share.
In December, there was a merger by incorporation of three equity funds managed by Montepio Gestão de Ativos, namely, “Montepio Acções – Fundo de Investimento Mobiliário de Acções” into “Montepio Acções Europa – Fundo de Investimento Mobiliário Aberto de Acções”, from “Montepio Capital – Fundo de Investimento Aberto de Acções” into “Montepio Acções Europa – Fundo de Investimento Mobiliário de Acções”, and from “Montepio Acções Internacionais – Fundo de Investimento Aberto de Ações” into “Montepio Acções Europa – Fundo de Investimento Mobiliário Aberto de Acções”.
Last month there was also a merger by incorporation of the equity fund “NB Ações Europa – Fundo de Investimento Aberto de Acções União Europeia, Suíça e Noruega” of GNB Fundo Mobiliários into “NB Momentum – Fundo de Investimento Mobiliário Aberto de Ações”.
