“The huge inroads the MFSA has made have been recognised by the business community and our international counterparts”, MFSA’s Chief Officer Supervision Christopher Buttigieg said.

“We are fully aware that combatting money laundering and terrorist financing is mission-critical to the security and integrity of our financial system. Also, sustainable growth and financial supervision are the key elements of the overall framework to address the abuse of the financial system by criminals. In a recent opinion piece titled “New Generation of Financial Supervision” published in The Sunday Times of Malta,   Dr Buttigieg outlined the Authority’s achievements, ongoing works and plans in terms of governance of supervision, supervisory programmes, due diligence and resources.
