The FSMA regularly informs intermediaries and financial service providers via newsletters about topics of interest to them, such as changes to legislation and supervision. As we approach the end of 2020, the FSMA once again wishes to review certain developments in supervisory practice. In the coming days, you will receive brief newsletters about various topics, such as the impact of Brexit, the end of the transition period for ancillary insurance intermediaries, and the anti-money laundering legislation. To keep up to date with the developments, we advise everyone to consult these newsletters.

This newsletter reminds ancillary insurance intermediaries that the transitional period ends on 28 December 2020.

Were you active as an ancillary insurance intermediary on 28 December 2018 and wish to continue carrying out insurance distribution activities? Unless you are entitled to an exemption, you have until 28 December 2020 to submit an application for registration with the FSMA.
