FRA’s Chairman announced that the number of approvals on issuing capital increase shares within ten months during 2017 amounted to 4044 approvals with an issued value of 111.7 billion pounds, in which an amount of 74.5 billion pounds was paid, compared to 3363 approvals in the same period last year with an issued capital of 71.1 billion EGP in which 28.6 billion EGP was paid .
He added that the market capitalization of listed shares was amounted to 785 billion pounds by the end of October 2017 with a rise of 90% compared to the same period last year. In addition to this, the main stock index (EGX30) witnessed a rise by 16% from the beginning of the year with a rise by 71% upon comparing the closure of October 2017 to the closure of the same period last year.
Dr. Mohammed Omran noted that the total trading value of listed and delisted shares during from the beginning of the year until October 2017 reached about 274 billion pounds, compared with total trading value of 197 billion pounds during the same period last year representing an increase by 39%. In addition, Transactions of Arabs and foreigners (net buying) amounted to 465.93 billion pounds during October 2017 that is after excluding the deals. The total value of trading on governmental bonds was about 14.8 billion pounds within ten months of 2017.
During ten months in 2017, FRA granted 14 new licenses for companies operating in capital market , including 5 licenses for mutual funds management and 3 licenses for participating in the establishment of companies issuing securities and 3 licenses for portfolio management activity and 3 licenses for financial consultations. In this respect, total number of granted licenses from the beginning of the activity until the end of October 2017 was 836 licenses in capital market for 748 companies.
The total number of those who passed the tests held by FRA during ten months in 2017 was 224 applicants compared to 220 in the same period last year.
The Authority held 153 inspections on companies operating in capital market, including 41 unscheduled inspections and 36 inspections for verification.
