Our current, and expected on-going, environment means we are becoming increasingly digital in the way we approach engagement with our regulated community and the public.
We have received positive feedback for the webinars we have delivered to date and this has helped us formulate a comprehensive webinar series for the remainder of this year and into 2021.
We are publishing this overview of our programme, which we will adjust actively to focus on priority issues and to respond to themes raised in our on-going Industry engagement. We will keep you informed of precise dates for these webinars and share the details with you well in advance.
Regulatory
Following our virtual examinations webinar in June, we will be doing a series of sessions to provide Industry with information and updates on a variety of matters, including:
- Outsourcing notifications
- Examination findings
- The role of compliance and the Board
- Exemptions
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Civil penalties.
Financial Crime
Over the last few years we have been working extensively with the Government of Jersey to increase our understanding of the Island’s AML/CFT risks. Towards the latter part of this year, we will deliver a series of risk-focused, sector-specific webinars which will provide feedback on our data collection exercises. We will time these seminars to take advantage of the analysis of risks in the National Risk Assessment, once published, and to initiate sector-by-sector discussions on the AML-CFT risk taxonomy that each sector faces. The sector webinars will be for:
- Trust Company Business
- Funds and Funds Services
- Banking
- Lenders (not banks)
- Investment Business
- Accountants
- Lawyers
- Estate Agents.
Registry
As we progress with our extensive programme to revamp our registers and registry services, we will deliver a series of technical webinars to update our registry customers. These will be tailored to specific user needs and will provide an overview of the significant changes we are making to our systems and services.
We are always interested to receive feedback as it helps us to shape the content of our webinars. If you have any thoughts or suggestions about the topics we will be covering, contact [email protected]
